Not a very eventful week, but a good one!  Come take a peek!
life rearranged
No matter how pretty my sandals or sparkly my toes, my feet will always be U.G.L.Y. ugly.  But I do my best.  Like lipstick on a pig :)

Another trip to the beach!  A few embarrassing wipe-outs that sent my 2 piece suit flying.
(Speaking of swimsuit malfunctions, I finally ordered a great one-piece and it happens to be on sale.  No cut-outs, but this one seems like it will be flattering with the ruched middle and diagonal stripes.  Roxy suits usually stay put in waves, thank goodness.)

Hanging around the house...

We took it easy on the Fourth, and chilled at the local mall with Sisi and the Pups. "Sisi and the Pups" would be a cool band name, don'tcha think?

Then we joined our good friends for a shrimp fest and super horrible cheesy movie not even worth mentioning.  We were too far in, we just had to watch the whole thing, but by the end our brains were fried.  Sisi kept sliding down their leather couch and saying "weeeeee".  That kid makes her own fun wherever we go.

And lastly, doing some paleo reading.  I thought a book about sweet potatoes would be boring, but it's totally fascinating.  If everyone would simply replace the bread/pasta/rice they eat with the humble yet delish sweet potato, we'd all be a lot healthier.

Not true! Your feet are cute.

We've been on a major sweet potato kick lately. They're so good diced and added into things (red lentils, omelets, everything).

@rachel- good for you! i didn't realize how much healthier sweet potatoes are, even compared to green veggies! also, they don't cause insulin spikes and are anti-inflammatory. you should read the book.

i second the book, the book cover makes it sound like a one note topic, but it's a very comprehensive-yet-easy-to-read book on nutrition, hormones, activity, self testing and self experimentation, history of food in our society, yada yada, and how the sweet potato ties in to all those things. amazing recipes at the end too. highly recommended.

I am extremely interested in that book. Will have to check it out! And by the way.. I'm really glad there is someone else out there who just lets the polish chip away until it's gone. Who needs remover anyway?
